I am Paddle To The Sea. Please put me back in the water...

Remember Paddle To the Sea? Who played the indian boy?

And what about the rest of the folks in it? And what the crew who filmed it? IMDB and even the CBC (who, AFAIK, sponsored it) are very light on the facts surrounding this film. Google doesn't help me either. Anyone know of a good resource to answer these burning questions?

Can you check it out from your library and look at the credits at the end?

This page which doesn't list the actors, but does mention other people involved (and has stills from the movie).

The Ontario government is investing in a Paddle to the Sea tourist attraction. This guy is the town reeve and must surely be able to help you get the right information. I think the director of the movie was Bill Mason, who won an Oscar for it. Holling C. Holling wrote the book.

I found info on the film in several places, but unfortunately none of them list the actors.

Paddle to the Sea was one of my favorite schooltime movies. Either that or the one with the red balloon that followed that kid everywhere. If someone can conjure up an mpeg of either movie, I declare you the greatest Google Ninja ever!

Paddle-to-the-Sea was a movie, too? Thanks! Got it on order from the library now.

I love that book. It started my love of geography.

Figures that the National Film Board of Canada was involved. They have done some really cool stuff. I have no idea what the title was, but we used to get to watch a dialog-free film at school about a guy canoing along as the geological ages changed on him. It was especially fun when the dinosaurs chased him.

I watched the video tonight. There are no acting credits at all.

I just borrowed the video from the library. I can confirm there are no acting credits, but the narrator refers to the boy as "Kyle Apetagon" (ah-peh-TAY-gun), which could be the actor's name. I'm not sure if the character had a name in the book.

Interesting that the name Apetagon is only familiar to me as a Norway House (Manitoba) name. Phone listings in canada411.com bear this out, as there are none listed in Lake Nipigon, or anywhere in Ontario. Maybe they spell it differently.
