Since Old Dutch discontinued their pork rind line, are there any other brands available in Canada? Any brands available mail-order that you can recommend?

I am sure I saw pork rinds in a grocery or convenience store somewhere in Vancouver this weekend, but I can't for the life of me remember where. Maybe Safeway at Commercial & Broadway.

If you mean friend pork rinds, you might try Utz. They only distribute in the U.S., but they do seem to offer online shopping.

I see them all the time in the stores in Richmond BC, including within the last week.

I notice that you tagged this with "chitlin(s)" I trust you realize they are not the same thing at all? Pork rinds would more properly be compared to "cracklins", I believve.

Hmm, I guess I'll have to take another look then. Perhaps they've been re-continued (or there's still old stock available).

Utz does offer shipping to Canada, but order must be placed over the 'phone. Have you ever tried Utz-brand rinds?

TedW, thanks for the correction, judging by the timestamp of the question it'd be safe to assume that I was deep into cups and made a misattribution. I've had all manner of bovine intestines, but never porcine - I'll have to try to find some =)

If you are ever down south, you can get some here. I recommend the fried variety, with a little hot sauce on them. They are reminiscent of pork rinds, only meatier.

Just this week, my wife pointed out pork rinds at I.G.A. (the one near Metrotown). I don't recall the brand, but if you want, I can check and email you.

It's cool, birdsquared - I'm in town =) and I'll give it another check.

Hmm, I guess Old Dutch has de-discontinued their pork rinds line.

Woot!
