Name that film: brightly coloured musical western

What was this film? Saw it at an arthouse cinema around 2000- 2002, it was a contemporary film. I can't remember where it was from, it was maybe Indonesia? It was a Western, or at least there was a main character who wore a big sombrero type hat and had a wee pencil mustache. It had a love story and some musical numbers, and the whole thing was absolutely amazing looking with really bright saturated colours. Many thanks!

I did a little bit of Googling earlier, it looks like it's available on amazon prime, or you have to find a dvd on the internet. I hadn't heard of this before but it looks fun.
