Help me Mattress Pad

Looking for a cover for my mattress pad topper (1-1.5 inches thick), or alternatively, suggestions for a new topper.

I have guests stay on a sofa bed for 5-7 days at a time. I have a piece of foam that I put on top of the mattress for additional comfort. The foam topper is about 1.5-2 inches thick. The foam has no cover, and is discoloring and looks gross. I would like to get a zippered bag or cover for the foam, but can't seem to find something that is made for such a thin topper (as opposed to an entire mattress), and is affordable. Alternatively, should I just buy a new mattress topper? Either way, I'd really like to say under $50. Mattress size is full or queen (frankly the measurements don't seem to match up with either size, but I suspect a full/queen option would work). Thanks

I bought a memory foam topper from Costco, which came with a zip up cover. This was 12 years ago, but I bet they still have them.

I don't understand. Why does a fitted sheet not do this job in the normal course of making up the sofa bed?

Response by poster: DarlingBri: the fitted sheet does cover the mattress pad, but my guests often strip the bed upon leaving, exposing the discolored foam (embarrassing!).

Not exactly what you're looking for, but if you're willing to spend $50 on a topper, Walmart has entire replacement sofabed mattresses for about $100.

Aha. Perhaps cover the mattress pad with a mattress topper?

Try a futon dealer. There a lots of types of zippered covers to protect futons.

I have an old foam mattress pad that I have stuffed into an old duvet cover, and that works great. Since it's not usually seen it doesn't have to look good, I believe I got the duvet cover at a thrift store for cheap

I bought one of those bedbug-proof zip-on mattress covers and jammed the ~2" mattress topper in there - a difficult one-time effort, but I plan on never revisiting it. Now the fitted sheet goes over that and life is great again.
