Movie ID: Move the door knob on the door, open it to a new room

A friend recalls a scene from a movie or possibly tv show where a character opens a door, looks through at what's beyond, closes the door, moves the doorknob from the left side to the right side (or possible from right to left), and reopens the door (now opening as though hinges have shifted as well) to a more satisfactory place. What movie is this?

To quote my friend directly:
There is a specific scene in which a character opens a door (decides they don't like what they see) and then removes the doorknob to place on the other side of the door and opens it from where the previous side's hinges would be.

WHAT MOVIE IS THIS. My brain is thinking like Halloweentown or Alice in Wonderland or Harry Potter or Sabrina the teenage witch, or something of the like. I'm pretty sure magic is involved. Help?
Additional clues: live action. Not any of the three listed. Maybe Willy Wonka, but no supporting video can be found. Not The Adjustment Bureau. Maybe Labyrinth, but again no supporting evidence can be found.

Best answer: That absolutely happens in Labyrinth, but he (Hoggle) flips the door instead of moving the handle.

There's also the doorknob you rotate to get to different places in Howl's Moving Castle.
