Looking for a particular record in London.

I'm going to be in London for a few days later this week, and there's one vinyl record in particular I'm hoping to be able to find. I don't want to spend a good chunk of my limited time running all over the city in what might be a vain search, so I'm wondering if anyone could recommend a shop that might be more likely than others to have it.

It's The Difference It Makes by MFA, specifically the version with the Superpitcher mix. I tried and failed to find it in Berlin a few years ago, so I'm hoping there's a store in London that specializes in electronic music that might have it. Based on the Discogs price it doesn't seem like it should be super-rare (yes, I am aware that I could just order it online).

I'm not an expert, but Sister Ray in Soho would probably be my first port of call. If they don't have it they might be able to tell you where does. Call/message them and ask.

Probably try Phonica, too.

And nearby to Sister Ray and Phonica is Reckless Records. They are all only a few minutes walk from each other in Soho. Before seeing the other answers I was going to recommend hitting up those 3 first.

Phonica specialises in electronic music, the other two are generalists.

Given that it's a relatively old record, Reckless is definitely your best bet because it specialises in secondhand vinyl. Phonica is great for electronic and dance music but is mostly new vinyl, while Sister Ray is a mix of new and secondhand.

That said, if I was looking for that particular 12", I'd try heading to Music and Video Exchange Notting Hill, or their Greenwich branch, because they're both packed with 12"s from that genre and era. Others to consider would be Flashback in Shoreditch, or Vinyl Pimp in Hackney.

Response by poster: Thanks, everyone! Looks like most of those are fairly close to a few bookstores my wife wants to visit, so that’s perfect!

Reckless and Sister Ray are both on Berwick Street. I'm not sure if there are any others on that street now; there used to be more.
