Google Calendar thinks it owns my Exchange email address

Though we have an MS mail server, colleagues won't/don't use it and have set up a bunch of Google shared calendars. I set up a Google account with my work e-mail address as the Google ID, but appointments sent from the Google calendar never make it to the Exchange server. So I sometimes miss stuff or have colleagues say I never joined events. Halp?

Since nobody has said anything, and just in case you hadn't considered the obviously less than ideal solution:

Could you just scrap trying to use the account you already created, since it doesn't work, and make a google-google account for this purpose? You can set it up to forward any emails to your true email account, or just stay logged in and check it as needed.

Response by poster: I could, but the team has created a bunch of shared stuff that I'd have to resubscribe to and/or back up somewhere.
