Do you love your L.A. tailor?

Can anyone recommend a skilled, reasonably-priced tailor in Los Angeles (preferably on the westside)? Mostly I'm looking for someone who can do some significant suit alterations and occasionally make an outfit from scratch if I provide the material and pattern. I really like the seamstress at my dry cleaners and am happy to have her hem skirts and pants when needed, but I'm looking for someone to do some more advanced work. Any ideas? Thanks!

There is Montalvo's on Montana Ave in Santa Monica. I haven't used them myself, just browsed their website and considered the idea. However I would assume from their location that they are expensive.

Have you thought about asking your seamstress? Perhaps she is much more skilled than you think. She wouldn't be the first person in the world to be able to do much more than her job requires her to do. If she isn't much more skilled, she'll probably no someone who is.

If that doesn't suit you, you could try asking the clerks at the fabric shop where you buy your cloth. They are certain to know a few people in your area that are professional tailors/seamstresses.
