Training “they” into my brain

I wish to improve fluency with correct pronouns. In particular, I want reinforcement of personal, gender-non-specific, gender-non-conforming, epicene they. Towards that goal, I seek audio source (podcasts, radio, non-fiction, pro- or fanfic) or comic books where characters use “they" pronouns. Rec away and thank you.

Best answer: If you're interested in sex & sex toy podcasts, Fist You is awesome and very funny, and one of the two hosts uses "they" pronouns, AND also just put out a comic book called "A Quick and Easy Guide to They Pronouns"!

Best answer: Oh, and that artist, Archie Bongiovanni, also does a comic called Grease Bats on Autostraddle, which rules and includes nonbinary characters.

If fiction will work for you, Ann Leckie's Ancillary Justice does this, as does Ada Palmer's Too Like the Lightning.

Ancillary Justice does not use 'they,' it uses 'she' for all genders.

Best answer: If you're open to Let's Plays, Marshall Dyer defaults to "they" in all their recent reactions. I especially recommend the playthrough of Kentucky Route Zero, which is more interactive fiction than game. It's like watching a visual audiobook that's read very well, with frequent use of the singular they.

Best answer: One of the hosts of Han and Matt Know It All uses "they" pronouns (and it is a great podcast to boot!)

Best answer: For podcasts you may wish to try Gender Reveal (the host uses they/them; many guests do) or Queery (depends on guest).

Best answer: The TV show Billions has a gender non-conforming character and the pronouns they/them are used scrupulously. (Sorry not an audio only source but I appreciate this in the show.)

Samuel Delany's Stars in my Pockets like Grains of Sand has a go at pronouns being used differently.

Best answer: Issue 9 of Capricious contains all stories with characters using diverse pronouns: http://www.capricioussf.org/issue-9-gender-diverse-pronouns/ They don’t all use they but many do and I enjoyed every work in the collection.

Best answer: There is also a podcast ABOUT Billions and the podcast hosts meticulously and frequently use “they” without bringing any attention to it. “Recapabbles” with Mallory Rubin.
