Looking for an individual health insurance broker in NYC

COBRA coverage is ending early as former employer is shutting down. Lots of advice (including previous questions here) about talking to a "broker" but how do I find one? Can you recommend a specific one?

I should not be a tough case (healthy mid-30s single male) but everything on the ACA exchange or sites like ehealth looks like an awful deal. I want someone who can explain ALL my options (so not a "navigator" I think) and I would be willing to pay them a fee to do so. Questions include:

- do I have any legal recourse to continue my current plan, based on inadequate notice or something? (probably not but would like to know for sure)
- since I'm now self-employed with an LLC, does that give me any better options?
- taxable income may be abnormally low this year (starting a business) so am I eligible for some subsidy?
- maybe I'm best off with something like Sherpaa + a HDHP but I'm confident I'll get ripped off picking a HDHP myself

Is this a job that still even exists, someone who gets paid (by me or by commission from the insurance company) to answer these questions and help me find a plan? Thanks for any suggestions! Throwaway email: nyc_insurance@fastmail.com

I found mine by googling "health insurance broker [my Zip Code]." She answered all my questions and recommended a plan that cost less and covered more than what I found on my own. There was no charge to me.
