Why Couldn't I Vote in the New York Primary This Morning?

My SO and I went down to our regular polling place, and when they looked us up by address to find our district, they said, "Oh, there's no elections for you today." Why?
They didn't offer much by way of explanation. I realize NY has weird primary rules, but I can't find anything about why at a single polling place, some nearby districts would be voting and others would not.
I looked myself up afterwards and I'm a registered Democrat, active registration, in these districts:
Election District: 32
Senate District: 25
Assembly District: 55
Congressional District: 8
Town: BROOKLYN
Any idea what gives? Thanks!

It’s happened to me before. There were no larger state/city elections and no offices were up for re-election for my particular precinct.
You can check vote411.org or the local election board to confirm whether there’s anything to vote on.
Always a good idea to check what’s up before you head to the polls.

Best answer: It was just the Federal primary today and your Rep is running unopposed.
The State primary is in September.

Best answer: I believe today is just for congressional primaries. Your polling place must span a couple different districts.

Best answer: I was under the impression it was only for certain districts. I checked the site last night and it said “no available elections in your district.” Hope that’s true!

You candidate(s) should have election days and important dates on the website. You could also call, just to be sure.

Best answer: Yeah, I'm in Queens Congressional District 6 and my Rep, Grace Meng, is running unopposed, so no election for me today.
Which just means I'll make sure to go and vote extra hard for Cynthia Nixon in September.
