What three words are being said in this video clip?

In a video about the life of Buddy Holly, Crickets drummer Jerry Allison tells a joke but I can't quite make out the last part.

And here's what I can understand. Can anyone fill in the blanks? It sounds to me that he's saying, "the fence sits down."

    They say the difference between Lubbock and Amarillo — the _____ _____ _____.

Best answer: There's nothing between Lubbock and Amarillo but a fence, and it's down.

It's in a section about how Lubbock is remote, flat and desolate. He's saying "They say there's nothing between Lubbock and Amarillo but a fence, and it's down."

This lines up with the Dutch subtitles which (somewhat inelegantly) translates it to "Between Lubbock and Amarillo there is nothing but a fallen fence, they say."
