Music playing apps that "watch" folders

I have all my music files sorted out in a folder system. I'd like to find apps for OSX and iOS (it could be different apps) that watch these folders and add/remove songs from the collection. They can be pretty basic—I just need to be able to sort and to make playlists.

Yes, I'm still trying to set up a good system for my music!

I don't want something like iTunes that only watches the "Automatically add to iTunes" folder. I also tried using Automator to make it watch a different folder, but it seems pretty unreliable, and also doesn't remove songs or move them when the file system is updated.

Thanks!

Clementine does this pretty handily. At least, it watches your "library" folder(s) and updates its music library in realtime.

foobar2000 does this on Windows. They seem to have a Mac version, but I have not tried it. Albums and songs show up like this in the folder.

Whoa, they finally did Foobar2000 for Mac.

(I just tried it, and it's extremely minimal. There's no media library like in the Windows version.)

I've used quodlibet and liked it, fairly minimal UI, loads quick, and plenty of features including watched folders
