A teeny tiny LED light for my un-lit screen?

So I just bought a new oven/microwave combo, and so far it's great. But one little detail I didn't think about nor did I notice when I bought it: the LCD screen is not backlit, so it's a little hard to see. How can I illuminate the screen so it's easier to see?

I'm thinking with a teeny tiny LED light, maybe a strip around the perimeter. It's a small rectangular screen, maybe two inches wide by one high. Or maybe a teeny tiny spotlight of some kind.

Any ideas to light up this unlit screen?

Is there anyplace nearby to clip a small reading light?

Response by poster: Yeah, a reading light was about all I could think of. Just wondered if there were some product that could fix this.

If it came with an instruction booklet, check in it. Google for other customers' experiences.

Are you sure it's not supposed to be backlit, but is not working? Sometimes it's hard to tell. I would call the mfr and ask.

Yeah, I am thinking it's busted. Even cheap small appliances with LCD screens have backlights.

White LED, coin battery, blu-tac? Google 'LED throwie'. (NB: cheap-arse, possibly ugly solution)

I suspect it's broken, and I would check. If borked, return/ replace.

Response by poster: LOL thanks all, but the screen is indeed not backlit. Of course I see that now in all the Amazon reviews--the one thing people complain about is that screen. Sharp was just being cheap I guess.
