Audio headset to computer question

I'm trying to get one of these Pyle Headsets into a computer.
I have a MBP along with a USB beherdynamic DAC - more or less like this.
What do I need to make this work?
Basically, from what I get, the headset has only 2 bands, the normal headset I use, has three little bands (on the 1/8' jack) and my phone requires 4 bands.
I just want to connect this headset to my system as cheaply as possible. Any help?

Response by poster: Whoops. Wrong DAC. This is the DAC I have - and it's essentially a "PC" input, with one 1/8" red and one green.

That USB adapter says it has a mono microphone input (the pink jack), and that headset has a mono connector, so in theory it should just work. Even if were a stereo microphone input, it should still work, but with only the left channel having audio. Is it not working for you?

What zsazsa says. You should be able to put a mono plug into a stereo socket and have everything work, you'll just need to mirror the left channel if your target format is in stereo.

Response by poster: Except it's a mono headset, a stereo input - and there doesn't seem to be a mono (female) to stereo (male) converter.

Easiest way is to get a cheapo USB Mac-compatible sound card like this and plug it into there. It looks like your DAC doesn't have any inputs so that won't do it.
