What is the name of this type of electronic connector?

The title says it all- I've encountered THIS type of multi-pin connector a few times and don't know the proper name for it. (i.e. "Molex" "DB-9" )

Best answer: It's some kind of molex connector, I don't know the exact product. Looks similar to one of their Ultra-fit power connectors but the retaining clip is different.

Anyway, it's a polarized Molex power connector.

Response by poster: Not to thread-sit, but GuyZero got me close enough to find out what it is... the Molex Ultra Fit series has a protruding ridge on one of the plastic parts surrounding the individual male pins, whereas my connector has two of the plastic parts chamfered. I think it's a Molex Micro Fit series connector. MeFi to the rescue!

I think you can tell exactly what Molex product line it is by looking at the pitch on the pins. The Microfit ones I see online don't have exactly the same chamfering but maybe there's more than what they show. And maybe it's a knockoff.

It's often called an ATX 12V connector and is used for providing extra power to PC motherboards or GPUs.

The actual surrounding plug in the pic looks somewhat different from the ones I've seen though.

huh, googleing "molex atx connector" gets you this: https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/molex,-llc/43025-0400/WM1784-ND/252497 which I think is exactly that connector.

Wikipedia says ATX mobo power connectors are MiniFit Jr connectors so now I don't know what's true anymore.
