Location Filter: Cool place in the Washington, D.C. area for an off-site brainstorming/process meeting. Prefer indoors with tablespace...
I was going to suggest the Old Ebbitt Grill near the White House, which is a very cool place. But I think you may be looking for more of a conference room setup?

Best answer: Sorry I can't remember more details, but I went to a meeting that sounds like what you're doing up at Great Falls once. It was an old house in the park that is rented out for weddings, etc. They had plenty of space for breakouts, and the setting is good for getting out of the office rut.

Richmond's probably farther than you want to go, but you could rent the space at c3. For more information, you can check out this article from a year ago.
The space is really neat, built for creative corporate brainstorming.

The location InfidelZombie is describing might be one of the Fairfax County Parks and Recreation Authority Historic Properties.
Montgomery County, MD, has a similar program.

Old Ebbitt Grill has a room in the downstairs that they set up/rent out for all kinds of things. And they'll fetch you food.

Arco has it-- it was partly in the Old Schoolhouse and partly in the Grange.

We have used Landsdowne if you want a swanky conference place. It is well outside DC but near Dulles. Annapolis is also nice and many of the larger hotels have conference facilities. If you want to be in DC, the Fairmont is nice though it ain't cheap.

It's 70 miles outside DC, but the Aspen Wye River Retreat Center's very nice.
