Getting calendars in icloud to show up on iPad

I have reached the age where I have a calendar on my macs that keeps track of my medications, so I can look back on any date and see what I was taking then. I set up an all-day event for each med. Now when my iPad syncs to icloud, most of the calendar is missing.

All calendar entries show up properly on my MacBook Pro running HighSierra 10.13.3. All calendar entries show up properly when I log on to icloud.com. My iPad is running iOS 11.2.5. Some recently entered events (meds) show up fine, but other long-running events don't show.

I have tried all the steps listed here, with no luck. I eat gluten, carbs, and have a sweet tooth.

Is it older events that aren't showing up? Go to Settings/Calendar/Sync and make sure "All Events" is selected.
