Need a replacement for Gothamist

There's a Gothamist-shaped hole in my life. Help! Looking for a similar NYC-oriented site that blends local news, upcoming events, and cultural commentary. Bonus points for a sense of humor and generally anti-establishment, progressive attitude.

Brokelyn fits your sense of humor and anti-establishment, progressive criteria.

Otherwise the other recommendations I would make are covered in the link above.

Previous question that may help you: https://ask.metafilter.com/316211/NYC-local-news. Nothing is quite like Gothamist, though; I miss it all the time.

I've been pretty impressed with some of the work coming out of The Cut. They cover a range of topics so you can pick and choose the things that interest you (I always skip over the fashion section because their idea of what is "on sale" and MY idea of what "sale" means are incompatible) and since NY Magazine is their parent org, there's definitely an NYC lean to some of the content.
