Hugo (film) with a mouse instead?

Watched Hugo today, fully expecting it to feature a white cartoon mouse, not a real life boy. What on earth am I thinking of?

The main image I'm thinking of is the mouse stood inside clockwork cogs. Does this exist or have I Mandela-Effected my brain? Having now watched Hugo, its not the clockwork mouse featured in it.

Definitely not Ratatouille.

I'm sure this isn't what you are thinking of, but The Great Mouse Detective features giant clockwork in the finale.

There’s a clockwork mouse in Hugo. Maybe you knew that but thought the movie centered on it?

Sorry, I missed that you addressed the mouse in the movie in your post. Disregard my comment.

Basil of Baker Street. His big show-down with Professor Ratigan takes place (or at least finishes) in the clockworks of Big Ben - I'm pretty sure, it's been a couple of decades since I revisited it.

That also occurs in this Christmas special, but the mouse is brown.

There was The Mouse and His Child, which was about clockwork mice, but i don't think that's what you had in mind.

(Not sure if this is like the nonexistent Shazam movie or the paint roller scene, but I have an uncanny feeling I've seen the movie you're looking for, and it did have a name like Hugo... racking my brains now)

Maybe ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas? The mouse inside the clock is my clearest memory of this.

The Great Mouse Detective has a scene with a mouse called Basil of Baker Street in the Big Ben clock tower.

This might be a stretch, but the Brain Meets Brawn Pinky & The Brain short from Animaniacs features two white mice inside Big Ben.

Response by poster: Thanks all. I don't think it's any of these. The thing I am thinking of, should it exist, would be very very similar to Hugo in visual design, so somewhat similar to Stuart Little (cartoon mouse in real world), except I've seen both of those. I loved the Great Mouse Detective when I was a kid, so it's possible I've conflated two or more things. If only I could draw the thing in my head!
