I need a suit quickly by mail order in the UK. I'm a large man. Help!

My size is 46" trousers and 48" chest, I'm 6'4", and I need a suit preferably in black-stripe. Does anyone know anywhere to get one? The sub question may well be - where on earth do you get suits and trousers of that size in the UK without paying a fortune? Nearly all mainstream retailers don't go above 42" waist...

From personal experience, I highly recommend Salter menswear. I'm 5'10", 54" chest and 48" waist. They had a choice of suits that fitted me off the peg (including 1 under £100)! All alterations are included in the price, making it effectively a made to measure service which makes a huge difference to how the suit looks and feels. If there's a store near you (see here, and you can get to it on Monday, they should be able to have the alterations done by Friday.

Oh, and they'll make future alterations completely free too! So if you lose those inches, you won't have to buy another suit further down the line.

This shop helped my brother out (6'10" 340 lbs) when he was in the UK last. It's located in Birmingham, but seems to have a robust online and telephone ordering system with priority delivery. Hope this helps.

How about the huge Marks & Spencer store in Camberley? I know that some of their suits go up to a generous 44" waist and possibly higher, it might be worth a trip down there on Sunday to try some on.

Slaters, definitely - the measure and adjust service is very fast. The store in Manchester carries the most stock, I believe?

You'll be wanting High & Mighty, I think. Disclaimer- I'm a shortarse and thus have never bought from them, and they seem a bit spendy, but I hope this helps.
