How to make playlists on my Creative mp3 player

Creative Zen Micro mp3 player help, please. (mi)

I've had my Creative player for a few weeks, and love it, aside from trouble getting it up and running and a not-too-helpful manual. But: Months ago, someone showed me his Creative mp3 player (a different model, which may make a difference) and showed me how he could select a group of artists and make an instant playlist out of them. I can't figure out how to do this. Can anybody help?

Go to Music Library-->Artists, highlight the first artist you want, click the menu button (bottom right).

Click on Add to Selected. Highlight next artist you want, click menu, select Add to Selected. Rinse, repeat.

Go to your Now Playing screen. Tap the vertical touchpad once. You'll see a list of your selected tracks. From here you can start playing or hit the menu button and select Save As Playlist.

You can also build your playlists in this manner by album, genre, or even individual tracks. It's easier to use the PC, though, I think.

Not to snark, but this is in the manual. In the "Playing and Managing Music" section, under the headings "Selecting tracks with Zen Micro" and "Managing the list of selected tracks."

Oh, also, if you just want to play all the tracks from an individual artist, just highlight that artist's name and hit the play button. It will then play every single track tagged with his/her/its name.

Excellent instructions, middleclasstool, but it's not... wait a minute, wait... yes! It's working!

Apparently the secret is, after hitting "Add to Selected", you have to hit the vertical touchpad with slightly more force than usual.

Thanks!
