Help me count hits and track referrers on my LiveJournal site.

A colleague of mine, as well as a fellow blogger, used BlogFlux's MapStats to track hits and referring addresses with his TypePad site. Now, he's switched over to LiveJournal, which doesn't allow Javascripting, so he's lost the ability to track referring addresses. Does anyone know of a free HTML counter that he can use that will track referrers? He's found some HTML counters that can log hits, and some others that can track referrers with Java, but he's looking for the best of both worlds. Thoughts?

He should see if he can get the raw server logs, which will show referrers.

From LiveJournal? Not gonna happen.

I've seen some LJ'ers use Site Meter (sitemeter.com).
