Restoring phone to an older date

I inadvertently deleted an entire text message conversation that contained sentimental things, pictures, etc., and I'm wondering if I restore my phone to a back up date of a week ago if my phone will restore the conversation? I have a google pixel, if that matters... I'm just not sure how far back the backups save, it appears as if my phone auto backs up every night so I'm wondering if I will even be given the opportunity to restore from a week ago... any one done this with success?

Are you backing the phone up with a specific App?

Response by poster: No, just the phone's backup system (google)... when I have done it in the past, when you reset your phone it asks if you want to restore an old back up I just can't remember how far back they go and I am afraid to risk it because I would need to go back a week. And I cant seem to confirm it will even load the full text message. I'm researching some apps that can recover deleted messages but again, I'm just worried I'll end up wiping my entire phone.

Best answer: When I had a similar question about my iPhone, tech savvy MeFite emptythought was very helpful. I know yours is a different type of phone, but they might be able to help you too. Try MeMailing emptythought! I did get my messages back and was so relieved. Good luck!

Best answer: Your Google Pixel has built-in customer support! I'm sure they can answer this and help you. Here's how to access it:

Open the Settings app.
Tap Support (on mine, it's all the way on the bottom)
Choose Phone or Chat support.
