Help me fix my cd/dvd drive!

LAPTOP HELP!? I have an alienware laptop, whose warrenty just expired and am now having problems with the removable cd/dvd reader burner.

the cd just spins and slows alternatively, unable to load or read? Anyone have any ideas, before I shell out 40 dollars for customer service?

I assume you've tried a number of CDs to make sure it's not the media you're using. Have you tried a lens cleaner?

not yet no, and yes mulitpe cd have been used...
