Help me find a black leather wallet in a figurative haystack.

Maybe the hivemind knows a current seller of a wallet in this style? Salient features: bifold, id card slot on one side, 3 credit card slots on other side, invisible card slots behind each side of bifold, leather, black.

I bought this wallet back in 2011, and again in 2013, and it was great. It's been discontinued since then. And since then I've bought at least 4 other wallets that looked like they'd be similar but have each had ...problems.

Once, I even forked out for a fancy name brand wallet I thought would work, and it came with extra pockets (which promptly deteriorated), extra-soft leather (which got all weird in my pocket and ended up breaking one of my credit cards because it was too soft at the corners), and an irremovable metal logo widget that dug into my butt when I sat. Wallets suck.

Small daily annoyances add up, and I realized today how much I dread playing the wallet lottery.

Anyone know of a simple, basic, durable black wallet with the features listed above? I'll buy, like, 10.

Open to suggestions for more simple durable alternatives; I tend to carry a fluctuating amount of cash, some paper receipts, 2-3 credit cards, a library card and an ID card.

I've had a Nixon wallet similar to what you're looking for that I picked up at a skate shop for ~5 years now that's still going strong.

It's not all leather, but Allett makes some leather-outer wallets such as the Slim ID wallet.

Yes, the inside is nylon, but I've used one of their all-nylon wallets for years and they last a good long time (6, 7 years each) so I can attest the interior will last.

I just bought this wallet from Buffalo Jackson and I am very happy with it. Sounds pretty much like what you described. It's high-quality leather well worth the price, assuming it lasts, which I am willing to do. Not sure if they have black, though.

It's not exactly your ideal layout, but if you are open to alternatives, the Bellroy slim sleeve is made from really nice leather, is well designed, and works for me with a pretty comparable number of cards.

I've had a Tumi one for 10ish years that has held up nicely. No ID slot, though.

I'm pretty sure I have the Perry Ellis wallet that loveandhappiness linked above. If you're OK with a see-through pocket on the one side (so that your ID would be visible when it's open, or suitable for putting a picture in), I think it'll fit the bill (sorry). It does have a hidden pocket behind the three credit card slots and there's room to hide other cards behind the ID on the right. I've had it for maybe four or five years and it's probably getting close to time to retire it, but that's not bad for a $20 wallet I've used every single day over that time.

If the see-through pocket is a dealbreaker, the Perry Ellis Connecticut might be good? Three card slots on each side; looks like it has the hidden slots but hard to say for sure. But it doesn't look to be available in black.
