Does my rice cooker self-clean?

I have a 3.5 cup National brand (I think) pink rice cooker that I can't find anywhere now. It has buttons for quick cook, timer, cake, porridge, and clean. I think the "clean" function is to clean the rice cooker, but I have no idea how to use it, having thrown the manual away years ago. Does anyone else's rice cooker have the same thing and know how to use it?

Response by poster: Edit: On second thought, it might actually be Panasonic brand. I'm not sure, since I don't have it with me right now.

I don't have any experience with rice cookers, but if you don't get the information you need here, try finding the model number somewhere on the appliance (it's usually on the bottom near the UL label on most major brands), then googling it. You might be able to find the manual on line.

If you can't find more info, I'll just offer my guess that any cleaning cycle for a rice cooker would be intended for use with a decent amount of water in the pot. A non-stick coating wouldn't hold up to high heat, and, for that matter, nor would the aluminum pots most of them use.

I have a very cheap cooker. I have just begunj to use it. The rice is great but it has teflon finish on pot for easy cleaning but no self-clean button. Tonight, in about two hours, I am going to try to steam some string beans in it and don't have any idea how much water to put in but am trying a cup full...thus far, cleaning has been easy but someone suggested spraying oil from can in pot before using to avoid sticking stuff in the pot. Seems reasonable but careful not to put in too much.
