I know that FeedBurner does a very good job of keeping track of RSS statistics, and their API enables you to use data in statistical reporting software (such as this pepper for Mint.

Response by poster: Thanks. Will check it out. Is there a way to find out this information without using FeedBurner?

your stats package would have to be aware of the index.xml file or whatever you use as RSS output. And even then, it's not a totally accurate number since bloglines will poll the file once per hour and show up as one user, but perhaps a thousand people might be subscribed to your feed at bloglines.
