What other books would you put in the same category as "My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She's Sorry" and "The One-in-a-Million Boy"?

For the purposes of categorization, please ignore the coincidence (or is it?) that they seem to have both come out on April 5, 2016. I'm talking more about the plot and characters. That sort of thing.

Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer has some similarities--precocious child protagonist, intergenerational friendships, dealing with death.
