Looking for ideas for a small and heavy-themed gift basket.

In keeping with the small and heavy theme, purchases so far include stainless steel ice cubes, a concrete tealight holder, and a cast iron mini cocotte. I would appreciate any other ideas, especially ones that don't seem obvious.

Things like, what is a really heavy rock/mineral?. Size should be tomato-sized or smaller, the smaller the better. Thanks!

Best answer: Tungsten cubes are pretty neat (a 1.5" cube weighs 1 kilo), but they're in the $100 range which I suspect is not what you're looking for?

Best answer: If you want to get cute about the meaning of "heavy," a miniaturized version of a classic literary tome (e.g. War and Peace or something of that ilk)?

Best answer: Lead fishing weights. A cannonball would be particularly satisfying.

How about some nihilistic epigrams and aphoristic essays by E.M. Cioran? A Short History of Decay and his Anathemas are about as small and heavy as literature gets.

also those rare earth magnets are pretty sweet

Hematite is a small but heavy kind of stone. You can find carved hematite in gift shops and rock shops.

Necklace made from a fishing weight, like specifically a banana-shaped spin sinker. Available in a range of weights 1/2 oz -12oz, at most tackle shops. I'd go with large enough to be a heavy necklace but not quite large enough to be annoying, maybe 1.5oz.

Also fairly small things that are often made from cast iron or other solid cast metal: bottle openers, door knockers, doorstops, bookends, trivets, candle holders, etc.
Google for sculptors in your area who do metal casting, and they may have small art pieces (and or decorative homewares as above) for sale, which are pretty much guaranteed to be heavy as all heck.

On the off chance that you have a large budget, here's a $230 2", 3# tungsten sphere.
