Mechanical Classes in Toronto

My kid (8) is really into machines, taking stuff apart and fixing them, and LOVED a recent bike repair workshop aimed at kids. More of the same, please!

Kid is signed up for Toronto Tool Library camp (making a pinball machine from scratch!), and Maker camp (robotics!), but is less into computers/programming and more into getting hands dirty and inventing. Is there anything up that alley in Toronto that I'm not aware of? Ongoing classes and one-off workshops both welcome.

My son is younger than yours but is attending Lego camp. They seem to offer a variety of lego + robotics although some are only for 9 years and up. I can't seem to figure out how to link so it's http://brickworksacademy.com/summercamp/

Do you have access to a yard? Clearing out an overgrown corner and putting in a garden bed would scratch this itch.

Best answer: My mechanically-inclined 8-year-old adores Kiwi Crate, which is (I checked!) available in Canada. Not a workshop, but an interesting and different building/crafting/making project each month that always illustrates different ideas and techniques.

Best answer: Check out the Design Exchange camps!
