Can you help us ID these hives/bites/skin marks we found on my daughter?

She doesn't report itching, burning or pain (she didn't even notice them). My wife noticed the two pictured yesterday, then saw more on her stomach today but might have just not noticed them. We each checked her bedding for bedbugs but saw no blood, feces or other evidence. We haven't change detergent etc. and they aren't on the exposed, sunscreen parts of the body. But she was an outdoor party in a rarely visited yard on Saturday.

They just look like ordinary mosquito bites to me.

This is the time of year, there are mosquitoes and many other bitey things, including spiders and some types of ants. Vacuuming helps reduce indoor critters. They don't look worrisome to me. Pay attention to see if the red area grows.

It's really difficult to tell what something is from a bite because people have all kinds of different reactions.

It's better to think about your environment, circumstances and other possibilities to narrow down what it could be.

Go camping? Have a pet that hasn't been treated for fleas in the past six months? What's common in your area?

Look like mosquito bites to me. When I get them on my legs, in particular, they get a tiny bit larger and more swollen than they would be on other parts of my body. Maybe that's happening here.

They're bug bites. If they're not bothering her does it really matter what bit her? It's summer and bugs are gonna bite. I probably have 20 bites on me right now.

I think they're just not-very-serious bug bites too, but if you want to keep an eye on them, draw a line around the red area so you can see if they get bigger, and take a pic to monitor weird oozing or colour changes.

Skeeters.

Wearing a citronella patch will keep them away.
