Need Help with Tumblr Hashtags

When using IFTTT to post pictures on Tumblr from Instagram, my hashtags are not automatically becoming active links. Help me fix this!

I have an Instagram account project. I created a companion account at Tumblr and I want to automatically push each picture from Instagram to Tumblr, posting the caption and hashtags and (preferably) a link to the original IG post.

Currently I have it set up with If This Then That, and it's working okay with one exception. The issue is Tumblr hashtags. There's a list of hashtags in the caption from Instagram, and they're pushed through to Tumblr, but in Tumblr they're not active links. It's just a list of words.

How do I get these hashtags to become active links in Tumblr automatically?

I have not found anything that will do this and I've been looking for the past year. Instagram and Tumblr are direct rivals and they do not want to play together nicely.

The hashtags are just being put into the text field in Tumblr, not the hashtag field. If you can link to the IFTTT Applet you are using, we may be able to see what is happening. Most likely, the recipe needs to be tweaked.

Robocop is bleeding is correct, there is no way to get the Instagram hashtags as a separate element in IFTTT.

Soleo is correct; tumblr doesn't create hashtags from the body of the post, e.g. a post body of "this is my #hashtag post" won't create a hastag on tumblr. That said, the tumblr API should support a list of tags, so if you're so inclined you could theoretically write code that looks for "#whatever" in the body of your instagram post and then creates that list of tags from that, but I don't know how to do that in the context of IFTTT recipes.

Response by poster: I am using the applet 50098327d. Is that enough info?
