Functional training resources

I am working with a personal trainer on building a functional training practice. I am doing some TRX, "loaded movement" and other body weight exercises, like medicine ball. I love it! I am looking for a book or blog that would help me learn more. What can you suggest?

Obviously, I will continue working closely with my trainer, but I also want to read stuff. What should I read?

Would watching tabatas be helpful for inspiration? Those are often heavy on the body weight even though they have a cardio element. Are you looking for more exercises or a better understanding of this approach to fitness?

Response by poster: I am interested in learning more about this approach to fitness. I am getting exercises from my trainer, so I'm not specifically focused on that. I am surprised by how fun I'm finding this stuff -- I actually look forward to exercising, which is a new, unexpected experience for me. I like using the equipment -- I feel like a kid playing. It's just so cool to me that bouncing a medicine ball gets my heart rate up, and it's way more fun than the treadmill or the elliptical. I'd like to know more about how this stuff all works, or about the people developing it.
