Who can receive my package for me?

I found a refurbished laptop on amazon that I want to buy. I am out of the country so I'll have to ship it to my brother or a friend in the US but I'm worried about something so valuable being left on the porch. Is there a service that that will receive and hold the laptop until I can pick it up?

When I search google, I find that the post office will hold amazon packages for you in England. I can't find anything similar in the US. Is my only option finding someone who will be at home waiting for the package? The area in question is St. Louis, MO. Thanks!

Amazon Locker?

Response by poster: Amazon Locker is perfect! Unfortunately, it doesn't look like they have anything in St. Louis. I can probably pick it up in Chicago on my way to STL but if anyone reading this knows of other solutions in St. Louis, let me know.

This might be worth a shot:

Can The UPS Store® or a UPS Access Point® location hold my packages?
Your packages can be held at The UPS Store, a UPS Customer Center, a UPS Access Point location, or at one of our retail locations, like Staples. You can also instruct us to reroute your packages to another address or have the driver leave it with a neighbor.

FedEx also has the option to hold shipments for pick up at FedEx Office locations. Notice that there is a limit on how long UPS, Amazon Locker and FedEx will hold before shipments are returned. Another option is to rent a mail box at a place like the UPS Store.

Came in to suggest Amazon Locker, but if that doesn't work for you, could you just have it shipped to brother/friend at their workplace?

Regarding the worry, when I have purchased things like this from Amazon, it's not something that would ever be left on the porch; it will require a signature to leave it.

Regarding being out of the country, have it sent to a friend, co-worker, job site, etc. Or, just wait until you are back in the country; there will be plenty of refurbished laptops available in the future as well.
