Cursor Placement Issue in Google Sheets - Happens only in Chrome

Google Chrome crashed, while I had Google Sheets open. Now, when I type into a Google Sheets spreadsheet, the cursor moves to the front of what I'm typing after the first character I type. For example, if I type "12345" it will be rendered as 23451. If I type "Metafilter" it will be rendered as etafilterM. It's like I'm stuck in Pig Latin world. This happens only in Chrome--it's fine in Firefox. I tried clearing my cache, clearing my cookies, re-adjusting my zoom, and uninstalling/reinstalling Chrome. Nothing made a difference. Please help.

Try selecting the whole sheet and then following the instructions for "Change the direction of text inside of a cell" under "Google Sheets" here.

Response by poster: That didn't fix it, but I found out something weirder. When I click on a cell and type, it does the pig latin thing. But if I DOUBLE-CLICK on the cell and type, it works fine. Every time.

Best answer: Here is someone with a similar problem. A bunch of folks there say they fixed it by turning off various extensions, so maybe you've got an extension that's causing the problem?

Response by poster: Thank you so much! I tried uninstalling a couple of extensions, and it turned out that Millennials to Snake People was screwing it up. Maybe after Chrome crashed and I restarted it, it updated that extension and that change did it. Either way, thank you, thank you, thank you.
