Does anyone know what plant this is? I've asked plant-inclined friends and googled, but to fruitless result. If you know, help a lady out!

I asked my mum who is very good at Plants and she says
I think it may be a leggy Aglaonema. Or Diffenbachia. Both are members of the Araceae family and they are rather similar.

Seconding Chinese Evergreen. They thrive in low light conditions (but aren't picky) and prefer to be "crowded" in their pot. Allow the soil to dry out between waterings. If you're lucky, they may even bloom.

Nthing Chinese Evergreen. They are very tolerant of virtually everything except cold, so keep it indoors.
