Where to find live sets, bootlegs, etc. from indie bands??

Thanks to the now defunct site Elbo.ws, teenage me was able to download a whole mess of live sets as MP3s from current indie bands. Nowadays I can't even figure out where to start if I want to find that sort of thing. YouTube has a ton of radio gigs which is cool but doesn't really offer concert bootlegs which I used to love listening to.

Best answer: NYC Taper might keep you busy for a couple of years.

Response by poster: Woah. Uh. Okay. I'll accept more answers but that site had almost exactly what I was looking for, some Thao & the Get Down Stay Down live sets, stuff from Spoon too. So, uh... thanks!

I don't know much about what current indie bands you're into, but it can't hurt to search for folks you like on archive.org's live music archive. These are all band-approved and mostly great recordings from the soundboard.

Edited to say: There are 62 Spoon shows to choose from.

dimeadozen.org have a lot of excellent and legal torrents both new and old, but they also have a few rules you need to follow: to download a lot of shows you also have to share the torrent with other users.

Teenage Dogs in Trouble has some great older live recordings.

The WFMU Free Music Archives has live sets recorded for radio.

Daytrotter has lots of short sets recorded for their site.

Little More Than a Big Crashing Beat has a lot of indie/garage sets. Mostly in San Diego or LA but the person behind the website gets out to festivals in England and Europe a lot and tapes The Fall (my fave) and lots of other stuff.
