Question: Africa desert real estate

I'd like to have some range land in a desert country, lease or own depending on the price and local laws, and I'm looking toward Morocco, Western Sahara or Mauritania. Anybody have any good sources on property in this part of the world?

In Morocco you have the right to own land, I can suggest you two part in there where you can have land near the desert : Merzouga (it's near Erfoud and Errachidia) and a little more at south there's Zagora.

But just get there and ask locals if there's some land to buy, some places are not that cheap because a lot of tourists come to it. But there are still a lot of places around you can find, just check the availablity of water and its quality (dry lands out there). Prices can go from $10.000 'till $20.000 for a land where you can build a big house (~200 m²) and have a big garden (hope for water to have plants :) and forget about turf). Prices can go higher, depends on availability of water, electricity, telephone and honesty of the owner. Just go there, make some friends (easy, people are friendly) and tell them about your projects, they'll help you.

Good luck !
