1st interview thank you letter after the 2nd interview?

I went in to interview with 3 people, 2 of whom will be my bosses. The next day one of them emailed me to invite me to an interview with 2 different people that are higher up. I was so focused on preparing for that interview I didn't send the first 3 people a formal thank you email.

I was so focused on preparing for that interview I didn't send the first 3 people a formal thank you email. Now I want to send a thank you note to the people for the second interview. It feels rude to not send one to the other people, but also a bit redundant since they're no longer considering whether to recommend me. Also it's been a week since the first interview. I think I'm overthinking it and should just send one right? I'm really excited about this job!

Best answer: Email everyone. "Thank you for the opportunity to interview with you all in this past week." The people from the first interview probably know about the second interview and may be part of the final decision making process, and it sounds like if you get the job you'd be working more closely with the first set of interviewers. Why not make a good impression on them?

Send one to everyone - it's polite, and also you don't know whether the whole group comes together for final decisions.

You are overthinking it and should just send one, right.
I do hiring for my company. From the outside it looks like this formal process, but most organizations are NOT robotic blocks of people who never communicate outside of the org chart.

Send one to everyone. People hire people, so make an effort to connect anyway you can.

It won't hurt to send one at any time, but I generally ignore thank you notes unless there was an explicit reason for the candidate to reach out to me: homework, they forgot an answer during the interview, etc.

Yes. Please do. You would be surprised by the number of people who do not send any thank you. It will make you stand out and is IMO good old fashion manners. So yes to thanking everyone.
