The Big Dig

I'm looking for lengthy articles, the like of which might appear in Atlantic Monthly or New Republic, on the Big Dig that discuss more the politics, bureaucracy, corruption and so on than the engineering and construction (such as this documentary does). Anything out there?

Best answer: I'd start with Boston Magazine, which is our local longform. This article on the first round of finger pointing that happened after the first major cost overrun revelation in 2000 sounds like a good first place to start. The next burst of coverage was around 2005, when a tunnel collapse killed a motorist.

Yes to Boston Magazine, also the archives of the Boston Globe Magazine.
