Is there a Web site that monitors airline prices and alerts you: 1. When a fare drops to my requested price. 2. When there is an overall drop in an airfare to a particular destination. This would be similar to Google's news Alerts. I am looking to fly from Chicago to Orlando that later part of May. I am looking for an airfare around $150.00. Presently the lowest fare I can find is $182.00.

Don't forget that Southwest isn't listed on those sites. Their price is $178, and I don't know that any of the other carriers is going to beat them by much.

Southwestern has a downloadable Ding that tells you when there's crazy cheap deals.

Travelocity does this for any two destinations world wide, as far as I know. It doesn't include Southwest, and probably some other discount airlines, but it does include a lot of different things. I use it routinely.

This has been asked before...twice. And the person behind Tripstalker replied.

I've been using Tripstalker ever since but don't find it real helpful. Travelocity works just as good.

At least one difference: Tripstalker requires a software download; travelocity and orbitz do not.

[Also, for what it's worth, the second link provided by sublivious is to a Q&A about finding the lowest fare, not about email alerts; the tripstalker person's posting to that thread might be considered off-point.]

Airtran has some really cheap fares, espiecially if you want to fly oneway. Right now a one way between Orlando and Chicago is $79
