How Do I Disable Google's "Related Searches" Display on iOS Safari?

Google insists on gobbling screen space by displaying a stack of "Related searches" at the bottom of every search results page (Safari, iPad Pro). How do I disable this? All "Suggestions" entries in Settings->Safari are turned off. I don't see anything useful in Google's search settings.

That WSJ article is also paywalled. Mind actually posting the solution, rather than a link? (Not trying to be a snot - but an inaccessible link is essentially not an answer)

On the front page, hit the "Search Tools" tab (?) and change "All Results" to "Verbatim" --- this does it on my iPad mini.
