Name That Tune

What's the music in the (International #1) trailer for The World's Fastest Indian? It's the guitar riff that begins right after the line, "It's what we're here for"--cut to a shot of a red vehicle speeding down the Bonneville Salt Flat. It's used again after the zoom-in on Anthony Hopkins and the VO, "Burt Monro's not ready to finish yet, I'll tell you that mate." Quicktime: small, large.

No, that's the music from the official trailer.

Hmmm ... but I doubt the guitar riff you cite is from either song.

It reminded me of something from Kaiser Chiefs, but I suspect I may be quite wrong about that...

And the trailer he's referring to is NOT the one that plays Clash and Cult.

this is merely speculation, and I have no idea on how to go about researching it, but the riff sounds like someone did a little surf music digging and put a drum machine behind it. so, I guess if you're looking specifically for the guitar sample (without the ntsz ntsz ntsz) you might have to track down whomever produced that spot. on another note, it reminds me a bit of the chemical brothers, and/or the dust brothers circa fight club. then again, it also sorta sounds like the brainchild of some music producer who'd enjoyed (or worked on) that U2 guy's reworking of the mission impossible theme.

it could also be original score. J. Peter Robinson has produced albums for Melissa Etheridge, Eric Clapton, and Phil Collins--none really considered a slouch when it comes to guitar work--and scored Encino Man and Wayne's World (but not MI).

If I might make a suggestion: since this is an international trailer, they'd have to clear the global rights on the music used for the domestic version, so it would pay for the studio to use stock music for the rest of the world. It certainly sounds to me like a stock tune; it sounds really familiar but from other commericals/TV shows, not the radio/music store.
