Book or Oral History About Failed Marriages?

I'm doing some research for a story about a broken marriage, and I was wondering if anyone knows of a Studs-Terkel-esque oral history containing interviews with people about their deteriorating relationships or the lies they would tell themselves to keep a marriage together? Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Best answer: This is not exactly it, but Women on Divorce is a very good collection of personal essays. Disclosure: I am a friend of a cousin of one of the editors. It's worth a read even if one has no personal/academic connection to divorce.

Best answer: The Husbands and Wives Club follows a marriage counseling therapy group and contains a LOT of really interesting conversation. I think you would find it helpful.

Best answer: The Guardian had a series last week on "The Moment Our Marriage Was Over" (not a book or oral history, I know, but I found it quite insightful & well-written and might be helpful for your research).
