Name my blog: Personal Finance and Sustainability

Need help coming up with a new for a blog! The focus will be on sustainability/green living, personal finance, paying off debt, and science related topics.

I've been thinking writing a blog to share some of what I'm learning about personal finance and my career as a biologist. I love personal finance and am frequently the go to person in my network for money related things. Some friends encouraged me to start writing stuff down, and that sounded like fun! I'm also working as a biologist and would love a place to highlight some of the stuff I'm working on (i.e. species identification app, etc) and topics that I'm interested in.

I'm struggling to come up a name that combines both elements. So far, I came up with:

- The Frugal Naturalist (or Biologist)
- Sustainability and Cents
- Round the Money Tree

Money related topics will likely include:
- Investing
- Paying off debt
- Budgeting
- Green DIY living (we just bought a house!)
- Real Estate Investing

Science related topics will likely include:
- Cool projects from work (GIS, species identification, apps that I am working on)
- Permaculture
- Sustainable Forestry
- Other things that peak my interest

Any other ideas or suggestions? Thanks for your help!

Here's a few words that might help you. Sustainability capably straddles both worlds, as does stewardship. Resources also applies to both natural and financial matters. That said, what popped into my mind is:

Best answer: You and your unique perspective are the common element in all these things. What do you believe about the world that makes you drawn to all these things? What makes you want to write about them? What goes on the "about" page?

So, rather than trying to make a single title encompass these interests as separate things, list them, list what you feel about them, why you're drawn to them, how you discovered them, etc., and see what that says about you.

A bonus of this approach is that you won't be limited to writing about only the topics you've already discovered,

Also, people can search for the topics by looking for keywords, but your personal approach -- the thing most difficult to put into words -- is harder to discover; making the title reflect that will help people understand what you're really writing about.

Having some indication of main subject areas is important too, though. I'm a big believer in subtitles for this reason.

Examples (bearing in mind I don't _actually_ know _you_, I'm just imagining if or a friend were to try to do something like this):

Rather than "Personal Finance and Environmental Stuff", maybe -- if it's the complexity of the natural world and of finance that you find compelling -- "Living Complex / writings about the natural world and keeping self together"

Rather than "Out of Debt and Out of Doors" (now that I write that, I kind of love it, but keeping on), maybe -- if you feel most free when you're in nature, and personal finance is just a way to make that possible -- "I just want to go outside / Conquering finances so I can build that forest cabin"

Just some ideas. I hope they help :)

Let me jump on your second idea, flipping it for an obvious reference to Jane Austen :
- Sense and sustainability.

Response by poster: Thanks for all the ideas so far! I love your approach amtho, that's exactly what I have been trying to figure out how to do. I'm going to spend some time hiking and thinking about things this weekend, and will see what I come up with! I love Living Complex and that idea. Lots to think about and ponder.
