Help Me Identify The Female Vocalist On This CD

I have a CD called Here We Come A-Wassailing. It does not show the name of the artist on the CD cover, and when I rip it to iTunes, it shows the name of the artist as Inconnu (which is the French word for unknown). I don't know if this is a hiccup in the labelling or if this is, in fact, the band's name. I've Googled and can't find anything under that name, but who knows. More info from the CD cover after the fold.

The other information on the CD cover is as follows:

Copyright 2005
Media Movies And More
Made In Canada
MMMCD0222

Although the cover and the CD itself list 14 tracks, there are in fact 15.

I know it's a long shot, but I thought I'd ask.

Thanks all!

Do you have a photo of the cd cover? (I have a bunch of older Christmas music so I might recognize it.)

Best answer: A quick look around shows that there's a Canadian company caled MS Media Music And More about which little else appears, except it seems to be a concern of one Manjeer Singh from Toronto, who looks like he could be this cove and the sort of chap who'd have a record label in his quiver. I'd drop him a tweet and see if he could help...

Best answer: Did you try Shazam or another song-identifying app?

If you look at the CD itself, it will have some alphanumerics printed around the hole in the center, if you look at it from the BACK (the side that faces down into the CD player). What do they say exactly?

What are some of the other songs on the cd? Is there some sort of image or photo on the cd cover?

You can listen to snippets of all of these versions on Amazon to see if any are yours.

Is it the same CD as this one in Worldcat? The CD title is different but the publisher and year is the same and it includes Here We come a wassailing.

Response by poster: @gudrun: sorry, no photo just now

@Devonian: thanks! I might get in touch with him; that looks promising.

@msbubbaclees: good idea and I don't know why I didn't think of it; I'll try that first

@ intermod: here they are (after much squinting)--MT-CD50235-01-G2 MMM CD 222 HERE WE COME

@the webmistress: thanks for looking! They're not, but I had never thought of that as a source of info, so I'll keep that in mind for the future

@interplanetjanet: thank for the the tip for Worldcat, which I didn't know about. It's not the same one, sadly, but I'm glad to know about Worldcat

You guys are amazing. I didn't expect anyone to answer.

Intriguing! Is there no photo because the CD cover doesn't have an image on it, or is it that you can't see the image right now? Do the songs all feature the same singer or are they each different? Is the music pop soul interpretation or clipped and folky sounding?

Response by poster: @freya_lamb: no photo because I'm temporarily unable to post one. The songs are all the same singer (female) and the songs have a very traditional take, occasionally verging on folky.

Best answer: If you have an Android phone, just say, "OK, Google, what is this song?" with the song playing nearby. No guarantee it will know the song in question, but this can amaze. I asked the other day and it pinpointed the song I was overhearing as a specific Hungarian indie rock band from last decade.

Kate Rusby has two Christmas albums that feature the song "Here we come a wassailing" though I would have described her music as outright folky rather than just verging on it. This one has it as the first track (and is well worth a listen anyway as her music is loveliness itself).

If you can't take a photo, can you instead just describe what is on the cover of the cd?

Response by poster: @DirtyOldTown: thanks! I'll try that when I get my voice back (currently suffering from laryngitis)

@*becca*: thanks for introducing me to Kate Rusby! I will get some of her music for sure. This CD isn't by her, but I appreciate knowing about her now :)

@ the webmistress: the CD has a very light grey background, mottled, and in the center is a photo of cranberries on a branch with leaves against a blurred background. The photo is blurred around the edges and is oval

Thank you so much people, for your efforts.

Response by poster: I forgot to mention that the other songs on the CD are as follows:

Joy to the World, Hark The Herald Angels Sing, Jingle Bells, Jolly Old St Nick, It Came Upon A midnight Clear, O Little Town Of Bethlehem, Go Tell It On The Mountain, Away In A Manger (misspelled as Mangaer), All Through The Night, You're All I want For Christmas, Silver Bells, I Wonder As I Wander, I'll Be Home For Christmas.
