Help me find a short story from days of yore! Once upon a time, back in the 1990s, I read a short story in a high school anthology...

Help me find a short story from days of yore! Once upon a time, back in the 1990s, I read a short story in a high school anthology. I'd like to find it, but my Google-fu is failing me. The story was about a duel, set in a fencing school or gym, between the venerable old master and a talented, faster pupil.

...can you describe (as best you can) the cover design of the anthology, and mention what country you went to school in to help narrow it down? Google image search for textbook publisher's logos; anything ring that far-off bell at all?
