BostonFilter :: Where in the metro-boston area can i buy a used/vintage bowling shirt?

I'm having a bowling party and want a cheepo bowling shirt. What are the best places to look for vintage/used bowling shirts? I went to Building 19 with no luck, and don't know what sort of stores carry them...

The Garment District?

Your best bets are consignment/goodwill/veterans type stores (search under consignment on switchboard.com).

You might also try the Garment District in cambridge.

Garment District is your best bet, as they specialize in "ironic" (and non-ironically overpriced) consignment clothing.

If that doesn't work out, Urban Renewals in Allston has a pretty large men's shirt selection and wouldn't be a bad place to check.

There's a few places in The Garage in Harvard Square (Hootenanny and Revolt, I think) that would probably have such a thing, but GD is likely your best bet.

I think Sacco's Bowl Haven in Davis Square, Somerville sells some with their name on it.

Ah, but not used/vintage. Sorry about that. I am super dense.

The Closet Upstairs on Newbury in Back Bay is a good place to look.

Planet Aid is under the Garage in Harvard Square - it's small but not terrible. I think there's also one on Newbury Street. But I'd say start at Garment District.

You could always just order from bowlingshirts.com. Not vintage, but they probably have the style you're looking for.

Planet Aid is, sadly, closed now.

Planet Aid is closed??? Both locations?? I used to love that place. Went all the time to the Newbury Street location.

There's a vintage clothing place on Mass Ave in Harvard Square near the Hong Kong. "Nettie's Attic" or something like that.

I walk by the Harvard location every day, so I know it's gone, but I have no idea if the others remain.

Whatever management company that owns most of the Harvard Square's buildings has been raising rents like crazy of late. There's a slew of closed storefronts awaiting the next wave of cookie-cutter chains to pour in.
