How can we securely share Outlook calendars between companies?

A company has an public calendar in Outlook. This contains business important data. How can it securely share that with other sites/companies that also use Outlook? Security needs to be 100% here, so security via obscurity (a public URL for example) isn't going to cut it unfortunately.

Assuming they're both using Microsoft's Exchange email server on the back end, your answer starts here. I've never done this, but it looks like a potential headache.

Another possibility is for company A to setup a bunch of accounts for company B on their Exchange server, and have everyone at company B add a new account to their Outlook profiles.

Maybe just a semantics issue, but by definition, a Public calendar can't be shared securely.
